He was able to help me define what it was that I am looking to accomplish with Arabic and to develop an appropriate learning plan accordingly. We now meet once a week and go over the weekly lessons. My pronunciation needs a lot of work, but he is patient and flexible. My schedule is often another challenge. I'm pretty busy most days of the week, but Ayad is very flexible and able to meet in different places on different days depending on what I can manage each week (a huge help to me!!) Ayad is able to understand why as an English speaker I have problems pronouncing things that are not hard to native speakers. He is amazingly patient, and I always feel like I am learning. While we are using university level texts, he knows the materials well enough to steer me clear of common student pitfalls, as well as point out inaccuracies in the curriculum.
